Appointed by the Gartmore Community Trust, Brown + Wallace provided Quantity Surveying services as part of a Design Team led by Anderson Bell Christie Architects for the refurbishment and alterations to the existing village hall.
The project was subject to CCF, Scottish Power Green Energy Trust, LEADER & Big Lottery grant funding and Brown + Wallace engaged with the Design Team in an option appraisal and Value Engineering exercise to arrive at a design solution that achieves the budget and the intentions of the Client brief.
The existing hall is of traditional stone construction and was refurbished to provide a multi-use space capable of holding community meetings, performing arts and use by the local health authority as well as for general public community events.
The scheme design incorporates air source heat pumps, thermal performance improvement measures and the introduction of PV panels.
